Buttafuoco dell’Oltrepò Pavese DOC

Still red wine

Vineyards located in: Solinga Valley, Canneto Pavese.

Soil: the vineyards are located on a south-oriented steep sloping hillside. Sandy and cobbled soil.

Grapes: Barbera, Croatina and Ughetta di Solinga in varying proportions each vintage.

Vinification: once the polyphenols are perfectly ripe, we carefully hand-harvest the grapes. They ferment for about 8 days with the skins. After the removal of the skins, the must is put in stainless-steel vats and bottled within 6 months from the harvest.

Tasting notes: intense ruby red colour with violet highlights. The bouquet is rich with floral and red fruits notes, and hints of faded rose and blackberry. Smooth and round on palate with a long finish.

Pairing suggestions: it goes well with salami, lasagne, pasta or white meat dishes.

Service temperature: best served at 17-18 °C in a glass with a large bowl.

Available formats: 0,75 l bottle.

Tu lascerai ogne cosa diletta
più caramente;
e questo è quello strale
che l’arco de lo esilio pria saetta.
Tu proverai sì come sa di sale
lo pane altrui, e come è duro calle
lo scendere e ‘l salir
per l’altrui scale.

Dante Alighieri
Paradiso, Canto XVII, 55-60
